croisette travaux cannes

Major works are to continue in Cannes over the next few years.

Back in March 2020 we announced the closure until Spring 2023 of the Carlton Hotel for major renovations, it is now the turn of two other emblematic locations in the city of Cannes to get a makeover.

The boulevard de la Croisette

Following a competition to transform the iconic sea front boulevard the winning project was submitted by the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta and the urban studio of Roland Castro. Under their supervision the renovation works will cover an area of 170,000m2 with a budget of approximately 160 million euros.

The future Croisette will be dressed in red in homage to the red carpet of the Palais des Festivals. The first phase should be completed in 2025.

The Palais des Festivals

Major interior works will begin in the Palais des Festivals, with the first phase to include the salon ‘Ambassadeurs’ on the 4th Floor as well as the promenade area in front of the famous event venue.

Works are scheduled to take 8 years. The long-term investment does include any plans for expansion of the Palais, the plan is to optimise existing areas with the aim of hosting more events and welcoming more visitors.

We look forward to keeping you up to date with the progress of these ambitious projects.
