It has taken place every year in <strong>Cannes<\/strong>, France since 1967 and until now has been organised by RX France, formerly Reed Midem.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">THE MIDEM BRAND ACQUIRED BY THE CITY OF CANNES<\/h2>\n\n<p>Three years ago, due to a gradual decline in attendance, the <strong>RX Group<\/strong> had decided to stop the organisation of this iconic event. At the end of 2021, RX announced the cancellation of <strong>MIDEM 2022<\/strong> and the total cancellation of the market.<\/p>\n\n<p>Following more than a year of discussions and negotiation, the city of <strong>Cannes<\/strong>has bought the MIDEM brand for the symbolic sum of \u20ac10,000. The <strong>Mayor of Cannes<\/strong>, <strong>David Lisnard<\/strong>, announced on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/lisnard.david\/posts\/5076132949136599\">social networks<\/a> this week. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The record and music publishing exhibition<\/strong> will return to Cannes in 2023. The objective is to relaunch and energise <strong>MIDEM<\/strong>, with particular attention focused on the digital and streaming formats as well as live performance which represents the main source of income for many artists, performers and producers.<br\/>As a result, <strong>live concerts<\/strong> will be organised in <strong>Cannes<\/strong> as well as a prize giving ceremony to reward music professionals.
