Like most events this year, ILTM organiser, Reed Exhibitions, has announced the postponement of the physical exhibition until next year. The good news however for participants, buyers and suppliers is that they will be able to meet via video conference 3 days a week for 3 weeks, in 3 regions of the world: the ILTM World Tour! Here are the dates:
– Asia-Pacific 17/18/19 November
– Europe, Middle East and Africa 23/24/25 November
– North and South America 1/2/3 December

In our last article, we announced that Heavent Meetings would probably be postponed to early September! Final dates were recently announced by the organiser and the show will now take place on September 1st and 2nd, 2020.
This is good news, however the Cannes events calendar is further affected with the recently announced cancellation of the Tax Free World Association scheduled for September 27th to October 2nd. This is mainly due to the knock on effect of the Corona virus on the travel industry.
Button Design remains positive and we hope that the Monaco Yacht Show, Cannes Yachting Festival, MAPIC and MIPCOM won’t be cancelled.

After the speech by the French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday April 13, Heavent Meetings announced that it will have to postpone the exhibit once again. It will probably take place at the start of the school year, discussions are underway between the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès and the organiser.
The 73rd edition of the Cannes Film Festival, which had been postponed to the end of June -beginning of July is now impossible. It seems difficult to imagine how the Cannes Film Festival could now be scheduled this year in its original form. The Festival together with the City of Cannes and the film industry in general want to find solutions to promote the films of 2020. However, the Film Market which takes place at the same time as the Cannes Film Festival, has announced that the exhibit will take place online from June 22 to 26, 2020. You will be able to attend speed meetings and conferences, visit virtual stands, etc…You can register you on their website !

Despite working from home, the Monaco Yacht Show has announced that the show will still take place from September 23 to 26, 2020 and its new teaser is available!

As anticipated the MIDEM international music market, which was due to be held in Cannes from 2nd to 5thJune, 2020 alongside the Mipim international property market, has in turn been cancelled. The next edition will now take place in a years time from June 1st to 4th, 2021!
In the meantime…
MIDEM will be offering an alternative online platform, MIDEM DIGITAL EDITION. This digital service will allow the music industry to follow conferences, carry out meetings and online participate in discussions.

While MIPIM has officially been postponed from the revised June dates in Cannes, it has been announced that a gathering of the MIPIM community will now be take place in Paris over 2 days in the autumn. The new event will allow international real estate professionals to meet and reconnect and enable the acceleration of recovery for the real estate industry.
In the interim, as of next month, an online platform ‘MIPIM CONNECT’, will be made available free of charge for all participants registered for MIPIM 2020.
Button Design wholeheartedly supports these changes and will obviously be present at the meeting in Paris for our clients as well as any other real estate professionals planning to participate.

We also wish to acknowledge the actions of the city of Cannes and the Palais des Festivals who are currently providing beds, care and food for the homeless and people in a precarious situation in our city.
In our previous article, we announced that Cannes Lions had not made a decision to postpone or cancel their event and had set new optional dates… This is no longer an option, Cannes Lions have confirmed the change to new dates of October 26 to 30, 2020!
The Cannes Film Festival have also confirmed what we have doubted for some time, that it will not take place in May but have yet to announce new dates.

For the last few weeks the evolution of the COVID-19 virus has gained considerable momentum. Despite the pandemic, this week some of the newly renovated beach restaurants re-opened their doors of which includes the Môme Plage, the Plage Annex and the CBeach. Others will follow in the coming days after completing the finishing touches.
As you can see from the photos they’re looking fantastic!
On the events front and following the cancellation of MIPTV, postponement of MIPIM and HEAVENT MEETINGS, it’s the turn of #CannesLions to make an announcement … The festival has not yet been cancelled or postponed, however the organisers have prudently made provision with Cannes City Council to secure optional new dates for later in the year (October 26 to 30, 2020).

The essential European trade show for corporate, incentive travel and the event industry which was planned for April 20 to 22 has been postponed to new dates of July 6 to 8.

Last night, due to the ongoing coronavirus situation, Reed MIDEM took the decision to cancel MIPTV which was scheduled to take place March 30 to April 2. The MIPDoc and MIPFormats have also been cancelled.
The third edition of Cannes Series has been re-scheduled, this will now take place next October 9-14, alongside MIPCOM 2020.
